On August 4, Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski said that the country had just arrested another member suspected of spying for Russia, bringing the total number of people arrested in an investigation to 16.

“(Polish Internal Security Agency) has arrested another person. This is the 16th person suspected of being involved in the Russian spy network. Mikhail A., a Belarusian, was involved in spying on military facilities and ports, and carried out propaganda activities for Russia,” Kaminski said in a statement on his social network X (formerly Twitter).
On the same day, August 4, Polish Ambassador to the European Union (EU) Andrzej Sados expressed support for the bloc's sanctions against increasing "aggressive" actions from Belarus.
“All those who carried out acts of repression against society, the media, Poles in Belarus and violence against Andrzej Poczobut (Polish minority activist imprisoned in Belarus) will be held accountable,” Ambassador Sados asserted.
Previously, on August 3, the EU adopted sanctions against 38 individuals and 3 organizations of Belarus for serious human rights violations, and expanded the ban on the export of weapons, as well as goods and technologies used in the aviation and space sectors of Belarus.
