What should be noted?

Here are some tips from experts when eating mangoes.

As for green mangoes. Dr Ranga Santosh Kumar, consultant general practitioner and diabetologist, Yashoda Hospital, Hyderabad (India), said: Green mangoes contain urushiol, which can irritate the mouth, throat and digestive system, especially if eaten in excess.

This substance is commonly found in mango peels. In rare cases, some people may even be allergic to eating peeled mangoes.

Dr. Raj advises not to eat more than half a mango at a time. Eating too many mangoes at once can cause indigestion.

A medium sized mango will have about 150 calories. Therefore, people who want to lose weight should eat it in moderation.

Mangoes should be eaten as a snack between meals and avoided at dinner.

Avoid drinking water immediately after eating mango as it can cause bloating, acidity and stomach pain, according to Hindustan Times.

If you feel uncomfortable regularly after eating mangoes, you should avoid it and consult your doctor.
