The moment the clock strikes the new year 1-1-2025 is also the historic moment of Hue - when the centrally-governed city of Hue is officially established.
Under the light, cold drizzle, tens of thousands of young people and residents of the ancient capital gathered at the intersection of Vo Nguyen Giap and Van Tien Dung streets to await that historic moment.
This is also the place where Hue city organizes the Countdown art program - Welcome New Year 2025 with the theme A New Era.
The program had the participation of many famous artists such as Mono, Isaac, DJ Trang Moon... bringing a vibrant atmosphere, filled with joy at the moment Hue entered a new opportunity.
Immersing himself in the historical moment, Phan Bao Phu (student of the University of Science , Hue University) said he was very happy to witness the moment when Hue city was directly under the central government.

"I hope that in the new year, my city Hue will change dramatically and become a green, livable city," Phu said.
Also at this historic moment, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, sent his congratulations to all the people, tourists, soldiers, businesses as well as friends who love Hue.
Mr. Phuong said that in 2024, the city's socio- economy achieved many positive results, budget revenue exceeded the assigned target, gradually becoming a large and unique cultural and tourist center of the country.
“Becoming a centrally-governed city is not only a great honor but also a great responsibility. This requires us to promote our intelligence, solidarity and creativity to build a modern, civilized and worthy city.
Let's welcome a new year full of vitality, a new Hue city that is brighter, greener, more brilliant, a place that every citizen is proud to mention," said Mr. Phuong.
