The volunteer group presented gifts to people who suffered heavy losses due to floods in Chieng Noi commune, Mai Son district, Son La province. Each gift included 200,000 VND in cash and necessities: rice, instant noodles, new clothes, dried fish, cooking oil, MSG, fish sauce, salt, seasoning powder, candy...

Each gift is given with the hope of helping to alleviate some of the difficulties and losses that the people here have suffered.

In addition, the delegation visited, encouraged and presented gifts to families whose houses collapsed and families whose relatives were swept away by floods. Along with survey activities to build houses and bridges for the people of Chieng Noi. The total value of the program was nearly 200 million VND.

Talking about the charity program, journalist Tong Huong - Deputy Head of Readers' Committee in charge of Charity - Society of NTNN/Dan Viet Newspaper shared: "Now, the flood water in Chieng Noi has receded, but it will take a long time for people to resume farming in the fields, while the source of emergency food and food support for people in the flood is gradually running out. Realizing the immediate difficulties of the people here, we have provided more food, necessary food and cash so that people can feel secure in overcoming the consequences of the flood and soon stabilize their lives."

Affected by storm number 2, many families lost loved ones, 8 houses were swept away by the flood, leaving behind a scene of devastation and desolation.

Sharing with reporters, Mr. Cam Van Truc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Chieng Noi commune said: "The entire crop area has been swept away by the flood, currently the food of the people mainly depends on the support of volunteer groups and benefactors.
