In 1977, Dr. Quach Thu Nguyet was assigned to work at the Youth Club (the predecessor of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House).

As the head of the propaganda and lecture department in 1979, then the deputy director in charge of the unit's operations, Ms. Nguyet always considered Tuoi Tre newspaper as a reliable and useful reference channel for her work.

"For many years, generations of reporters, editors, and leaders of Tuoi Tre newspaper have been close friends who have accompanied me on the journey for the common ideals of the city and the youth," she confided.

Reading Tuoi Tre is my daily job

When Dr. Thu Nguyet became director and editor-in-chief of Tre Publishing House in 2003, she was reminded by "Uncle Tu Anh" Tran Bach Dang that making books is like making newspapers, you must know clearly who your target audience is and must know how to serve and dedicate yourself to them.

"Uncle Tu highly appreciates two newspapers in Ho Chi Minh City, one for young people and one for women. I think the success of Tuoi Tre newspaper over the past half century is that the newspaper always pays attention to meeting the multifaceted needs of young people.

On the front page and behind the scenes, Tuoi Tre always helps young people see the images, thoughts, and aspirations of themselves and their peers to learn, cultivate, and improve themselves.

Not only that, through investigative reports, news articles of discovery and prediction, Tuoi Tre has shown readers its political views and spirit of dedication to the end.

It can be said that many generations of journalists at Tuoi Tre are always proud of having lived and worked here, proud that readers still remember the names of each reporter with their articles, events, and columns," said Ms. Nguyet.

Reading Tuoi Tre is almost a part of Ms. Nguyet’s daily routine. Although she often reads the newspaper online, she still subscribes to the paper every year because she can save it and look it up when needed.

Looking forward to reading honest and sharp articles

Dr. Quach Thu Nguyet loves many sections of Tuoi Tre , such as: current events, reports - investigations; youth life; culture - entertainment; world , especially the weekly Tuoi Tre Cuoi Tuan because it has many in-depth, valuable articles with sharp, trustworthy writers.

Regarding the book and publishing section, she remembers that Tuoi Tre newspaper used to dedicate one day a week to a book section such as: news, book introductions, publishing market situation and activities related to reading culture at home and abroad...

According to Ms. Nguyet, that is a good and correct policy, because communication about books is very necessary in a lifelong learning society with the current trend of requiring development of knowledge and soft skills.

She hopes to read sharp, honest articles that reflect the "vitality" and depth of fields, especially changing issues, opening up the creative potential of today's youth.

"It is necessary for reporters to go to the field to report authentically with the events; have opinions and new, strange discoveries so that the articles are truly profound, creative, and predictive.

Up to now, Tuoi Tre newspaper is still fortunate to have loyal readers because of their trust in the newspaper for a long time. I think that if the market share of the newspaper is exploited, there will still be a significant number of readers, for example, by linking with newspaper design projects on metro lines, trains, hospitals, etc.," Ms. Nguyet commented.
