The 2024 Journey to Lotus Village Marathon is expected to attract 3,000 athletes, including many famous runners. The 2024 Journey to Lotus Village Marathon is one of 10 activities within the framework of the 2024 Lotus Village Festival.
Journalist Nguyen Van Ba, Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet Newspaper - the co-organizer, shared: The 2024 Journey to Sen Village Marathon is a return to the land rich in historical traditions, the general sports movement of Nghe An province and to "Sen Village", the homeland of Uncle Ho. This year, VietNamNet Newspaper participates in the organization with Win VietNam Company, under the direction of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, so the newspaper determines that this is a meaningful activity and will do its best to organize the race successfully.

“From here, we will contribute to promoting and introducing more images throughout the country about people who love their homeland and love marathon running. Vietnam has many beautiful landscapes, and the races will help localities continuously spread these values to more people. Through this, VietNamNet newspaper will also spread more documents of localities throughout the country,” emphasized journalist Nguyen Van Ba.
It is known that at this year's tournament, the organizing committee launched a campaign to mobilize athletes and sponsors to support the charity work of building a bridge in Chau Khe commune, Con Cuong district. Currently, some sponsors have initially joined. This is a charity work to help athletes and organizers share with the very difficult areas in Nghe An .
Of the 4 competition distances of the 2024 Journey to Lotus Village marathon, the 42km distance starts from Nam Dan district, instead of starting and ending in Cua Lo town like the 3 distances of 5km, 10km, 21km. The issue of ensuring safety for athletes on the running track is raised because this most attractive and difficult distance is organized to run through many national highways.
According to the Organizing Committee, after surveying the race route, the athletes participating in the 42km distance will only run a short section on Highway 46, so the Organizing Committee will coordinate with the police force to arrange traffic flow, ensuring absolute safety for the athletes to compete.
The three distances of 5, 10 and 21km all start from Binh Minh road, Cua Lo town and ensure athletes participate in the race.
