In seven months, Hanoi welcomed nearly 16.5 million tourists.

Hanoi Department of Tourism has just announced the results of tourism activities from the beginning of 2024 to present.

In the past 7 months, the capital's tourism industry continued to maintain stable growth momentum with the total number of tourists to Hanoi reaching 16.44 million, an increase of 11.8% over the same period in 2023.

Of which, international tourists reached 3.43 million, up 42.5% over the same period in 2023, the rest were domestic tourists.

The high number of tourists resulted in total tourism revenue reaching VND 63,602 billion, an increase of 18.9% over the same period in 2023.

In July alone, Hanoi welcomed 2.52 million visitors, including 425,000 international visitors. Total revenue from tourists reached VND9,247 billion, up 10.3% over the same period in 2023.

In July 2024, the average room occupancy rate of the hotel block is estimated at 58.57%, down 9.2% over the same period in 2023.

Hanoi currently has 3,760 accommodation establishments with 71,246 rooms; of which 606 hotels and apartment buildings have been ranked from 1 to 5 stars.

The above results were achieved thanks to the city organizing many promotional events, stimulating tourism and innovating products, launching new products.

Last July, the most prominent event was the Hanoi Lotus Festival and the introduction of OCOP products associated with the culture of the northern mountainous provinces in 2024 held at the Cultural and Creative Space of Tay Ho district.

The event not only attracted 50,000 visitors to visit and experience, but also contributed to promoting the brand and tourism potential of the Capital.

In Hanoi, there are currently 45 food service establishments, 43 shopping service establishments, and 7 entertainment establishments recognized as meeting standards for serving tourists.

The system of shopping, dining and entertainment facilities that meet tourist standards has attracted and served a large number of tourists and residents to visit and shop.

To attract tourism at the end of the year, the Department of Tourism will continue to advise on the implementation of tasks on innovating the organizational model, management methods, preserving and promoting the value of the historical relic and special national landscape of Huong Son complex (Huong Pagoda), My Duc district; organizing event programs: Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2024, a series of Hanoi sports tourism events 2024, a series of activities to build Hanoi cultural and historical tourism products, a conference to meet and dialogue with tourism businesses and announce the domestic tourism stimulus program in Hanoi in 2024, developing rural agricultural tourism,...

In addition, the city focuses on building a pilot model for developing agricultural and rural tourism associated with new rural construction in Hanoi in the 2022-2025 period; implementing a plan to build a community tourism model associated with practical experiences in craft villages and tourist destinations associated with traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities.
