The two early matches of the 2023 National Cup Quarterfinals took place on the evening of July 10 with the matches Topenland Binh Dinh - Ha Tinh and Thanh Hoa - Phu Dong ending with victories belonging to the home teams.

The match at Quy Nhon Stadium is expected to be evenly matched, the two teams are familiar with each other in terms of players and playing style. Although playing away, Ha Tinh entered the match quite confidently when building a tight, defensive counter-attacking style of play. The style of play once helped coach Nguyen Thanh Cong and his team beat Binh Dinh in the match in the first phase of V-League 2023. Because the away team actively played low, Binh Dinh had no difficulty in gaining control of the game. In the 5th minute, the home team almost opened the score when Van Thanh's shot hit the post and went out.
Without having to wait long, in the 11th minute, Binh Dinh opened the scoring with a quick and accurate shot from Van Thanh within 16m50. In the 44th minute, the gap was doubled for the home team with a close-range tap-in by Rafaelson after goalkeeper Thanh Tung failed to punch the ball.
The second half was quite even, Ha Tinh had a few chances to equalize but failed to capitalize. In the 70th minute, the away team suffered a loss when Van Hanh received a red card after a foul on Rafaelson. However, Ha Tinh still pushed up their attacking formation in the remaining time in the hope of finding an equalizer.

In the 83rd minute, hope came to Ha Tinh again when center back Adriano Schmidt fouled Quang Nam of Ha Tinh, the referee awarded the away team a penalty and Diallo reduced the score to 1-2. Ha Tinh increased the pressure in the remaining time but unfortunately they did not score any more goals, having to stop with a 1-2 loss.
With this win, Binh Dinh will enter the Semi-finals and wait to meet the winner of the Viettel – Nam Dinh match. In the other semi-final, Thanh Hoa won against Phu Dong with a score of 1-0 after Thanh Binh scored in the 38th minute from the penalty spot.
