Leaders of Binh Gia District People's Committee beat the drum to open the festival

– On February 16 (ie January 7, Giap Thin year), Binh Gia District People's Committee organized the Long Tong festival (going to the fields) in Quang Trung commune and launched the wearing of ethnic costumes of Binh Gia district in 2024.

Quang Trung Commune Long Tong Festival was chosen as the key festival of Binh Gia District. This is a traditional activity closely associated with the agriculture of ethnic minorities in Quang Trung Commune in particular and ethnic minorities in Binh Gia District in general.


Lion and cat dance performance at the festival

Every year, on the 7th of January, ethnic people in the area come here to participate in festival activities with the wish to pray for favorable weather, peaceful life and happy family.


Ritual of praying for good harvest at the festival

At the opening ceremony, people and tourists enjoyed skillful lion and cat dances along with artistic performances and traditional costumes of ethnic groups in the district, which were extremely unique and interesting.


Delegates and local people visited booths displaying agricultural products and specialties at the festival.

In the program, the leaders of the District People's Committee launched the wearing of traditional national costumes to all cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers at agencies, units and all classes of people in the area. In particular, encouraging people to maintain wearing national costumes on holidays, Tet, local events and in daily life in an appropriate manner.

In addition, visitors can also visit booths displaying local specialties and culinary booths of neighboring communes in the district.

In particular, at this festival, visitors can also participate in the pig roasting competition between villages in the commune and participate in many traditional games such as tug of war, throwing balls, pushing sticks, etc. The festival has attracted thousands of visitors to have fun and participate in the experience.

The Long Tong Festival in Quang Trung Commune, Binh Gia District has contributed to preserving, maintaining and promoting the national cultural identity. At the same time, it has contributed to promoting and introducing the unique cultural potential associated with the historical and cultural relics of the locality, creating a spreading force, strengthening solidarity, and encouraging people of all walks of life to enthusiastically work, produce, and build a prosperous and strong homeland.
