On November 27 and 28, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command organized a one-sided command-staff exercise at two levels on the map and in the field (phase 2) in 2024.
The exercise went through three phases, including: Moving armed forces into combat readiness states, moving localities into defense states; organizing defensive combat preparations and practicing defensive combat.

Through the drill stages, agencies and units have thoroughly grasped the purpose, requirements, functions, tasks and intentions of the drill, organized practice drills close to hypothetical situations, ensuring quality and effectiveness.
In particular, in conducting meetings, the forces participating in the exercise promoted their roles and responsibilities well, had flexible, creative and decisive command methods and styles, and performed the steps in the correct order; their skills in working on maps, drafting documents, and plans were built in accordance with regulations and in accordance with practical situations.
The exercise was assessed by the agencies of Military Region 4 as having successfully completed its mission, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects. Through the exercise, the aim was to assess the level, capacity, management methods and situation handling of the Party Committee, commanders as well as agencies in the staff and coordination to ensure; at the same time, to raise awareness, responsibility, and combat readiness level of officers and soldiers.
This is also the basis for the provincial armed forces to continue to effectively implement Resolution 28 of the Politburo on "Continuing to build provinces and centrally-run cities into solid defense zones in the new situation".
