On April 4, the Politburo reviewed and disciplined party members who committed violations and shortcomings. After considering the proposal of the Central Inspection Commission , the Politburo found that:
During his tenure as a member of the Politburo , Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks, in preventing and combating corruption and negativity; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, causing very serious consequences, bad public opinion, and affecting the prestige of the Party and State.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, deputy head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, during his tenure as Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks, and in preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity.
Violating regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, causing serious consequences, bad public opinion, reducing the prestige of the Party organization and local government.
Based on the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violation; according to the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Politburo decided to issue a disciplinary warning to Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu and remove him from his positions, and proposed that the Party Central Committee consider removing him from his position as an alternate member of the 13th Party Central Committee.
Propose that the Party Central Committee consider disciplining Mr. Truong Hoa Binh.
Propose that competent authorities promptly enforce administrative discipline in line with Party discipline.
Mr. Truong Hoa Binh is the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government for the 2016-2021 term. He will retire in July 2021.
In December 2024, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh was warned by the Politburo for a number of violations while in office.
