Ministry of Defense announces enrollment plan of 20 military schools in 2025

TPO - The Ministry of National Defense officially announced regulations on enrollment organization and enrollment quotas for military university and college training at military schools in 2025.

The total military enrollment target of 20 military schools this year is 4,400 military university and college students, a decrease of nearly 1,000 compared to last year.

At the 2025 Admissions and Career Guidance Fair in Hanoi recently, Colonel Do Thanh Tam - Secretary of the Military Admissions Board, Ministry of National Defense - said that this year, there are 10 university-level training institutions recruiting about 3,500 civilian training targets after 6 years of suspending enrollment in this system. Candidates participating in the civilian system do not need to go through the preliminary round.

For the military system, candidates must pass a preliminary selection at the military command of the district, town, or city where they register their permanent residence. The preliminary selection period is expected to be from March 25 to May 20.

Mr. Tam said that according to the regulations of the Ministry of National Defense, candidates must ensure 13 basic factors such as personal and family background, ensuring eligibility for Party membership...

The age for recruitment is from 18-21 years old, except for active/demobilized soldiers and citizens who have completed their People's Public Security service, the age is from 18-23 years old. Age is only calculated by year, not by month.

Regarding health, candidates must achieve health type I and II in 8 specified criteria. There are separate regulations regarding eyesight and physical strength.

For schools training command, political and logistics officers, candidates must be 1.65m or taller, weigh 50kg or more, and will not accept nearsighted candidates; with a body mass index of less than 30.

The group of technical and engineering officer schools, medical schools... recruit candidates who are 1.63m tall and weigh 50kg or more; recruit candidates with myopia of no more than 3 diopters.

For candidates in region 1, mountainous and island areas, candidates with a height of 1.62m or more will be eligible to apply to all military schools.

Mr. Tam noted that candidates from military schools will only be admitted for their first choice, while candidates can apply for admission to non-military schools for the remaining choices.

In 2025, military schools will continue to recruit students based on Math, Chemistry, Biology), C00 (Literature, History, Geography), D01 (Math, Literature, English), D02 (Math, Literature, Russian), D04 (Math, Literature, Chinese). In addition to traditional combinations, schools plan to expand new admission combinations to suit both candidates studying the old program (2006 program) and the new program (2018 program), with priority given to combinations with English.
