The two sides were pleased with the positive development of Vietnam-Laos relations, especially the exchange of delegations and high-level contacts as well as the promotion of the implementation of key cooperation projects, most recently the putting into operation of Nong Khang airport in Hua Phan province, contributing to promoting tourism cooperation as well as facilitating people's travel.

The two sides agreed to closely coordinate and prepare well for high-level activities on Party and Government channels as well as other cooperation mechanisms.

The two Ministers highly appreciated the cooperation between the Vietnamese and Lao Foreign Ministries; expressed satisfaction with the substantive results of the 8th Deputy Foreign Ministerial-level Political Consultation (Laos, June 2023); affirmed that they will coordinate to promote and effectively implement cooperation areas, especially economic diplomacy in the context of many fluctuations in the regional and world economic situation.

On this occasion, Minister Bui Thanh Son invited the Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to visit and co-chair the 10th Ministerial-level Political Consultation in Vietnam, scheduled for the end of 2023.

The two sides agreed to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums, especially within ASEAN and Mekong sub-regional cooperation mechanisms; and regularly exchange and consult on international and regional issues of mutual concern.

Appreciating Laos' proactive preparation for the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024, Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that Vietnam is ready to support Laos in preparing and successfully undertaking this important task.
