Responding to Tuoi Tre Online, a representative of the organizing committee said that because it was sponsored by an overseas Vietnamese in the US, all of these activities were free for participants.

When the "footsteps return"
After the opening activities this weekend in Ecopark urban area, the Return Steps project will continue to expand into a series of community programs.
Including tree planting campaigns in many localities; activities connecting overseas Vietnamese with their homeland; cultural education projects for the younger generation; initiatives to support economic - tourism - environmental development in many provinces and cities... across the country.
All of these meaningful activities for the community are contributed by overseas Vietnamese in other countries as a "step back" to the roots.
Mr. Nguyen Phu Binh - Chairman of the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that the task of planting forests and protecting the environment is no longer the responsibility of one person alone. It is the common mission of the entire nation, of each Vietnamese person, at home and abroad.
Returning Steps is a place for the Vietnamese community everywhere to join hands for a green Vietnam, a practical action contributing to creating a healthy and sustainable living environment.
There are currently 6.3 million overseas Vietnamese living in more than 130 countries and territories around the world. They all hope to contribute to their homeland through concrete actions.
Historian Le Van Lan recalled the story of historians researching the Hung King era after the 1968 event, which had a great effect in building the strength of the great national unity bloc, leading us to the victory of April 30, 1975, unifying the country.
He cited history as proof that when Vietnamese people unite and work together for a common goal, they will create great miracles. The unity of Vietnamese people from all over the world will bring great strength to develop the country today.
And he believes that the Return Steps program calling for the joint efforts of overseas Vietnamese for the country's sustainable development goals will bring great results.
