Singer To Thanh Phuong was born in 1961 in Ca Mau . In 1976, he joined the Minh Hai Music and Dance Troupe as a singer. In 1985, To Thanh Phuong won the National Gold Medal for Professional Music and Dance with the song " Singing to My Homeland". In 1989, To Thanh Phuong continued to win the National Light Music Star award with the song "Impromptu Ly Qua Cau".
Since 1990, To Thanh Phuong left Ca Mau to participate in musical activities in Ho Chi Minh City. He often sang at large music venues such as Trong Dong, Cau Vong 126, Ky Hoa... as well as at music tea rooms.
Singer To Thanh Phuong is best known for his performance of the song Song of the Southern Land (Lyrics: Le Giang, Music: Lu Nhat Vu) in the TV series Southern Land in 1997.
