"The first match is always very important, it is the beginning of a journey that we hope will be successful," coach Mano Polking shared before the National Super Cup match between CAHN and Nam Dinh on the afternoon of August 5.
For the National Cup champions, the goal is nothing other than victory. "We want to win to create good psychological momentum, and at the same time bring home the first title for the new season," Mr. Polking emphasized.
CAHN is making many changes to its squad, especially with the addition of quality new recruits. According to the German-Brazilian coach, the coaching staff has tested many new faces during the preparation phase.
"Players need time to adapt and integrate into their positions and the general playing style. However, I believe they will be ready when the match starts," he said.
After nearly a month of preparation, CAHN had three weeks to practice tactics and strengthen the squad. Coach Polking admitted that the time was not too long, but the team worked seriously and made the most of it.
"We have learned many lessons and improved every day. The most important thing is that the whole team is looking forward to this match with the best concentration and spirit," said the former coach of the Thai national team.
CAHN's opponent, Nam Dinh, is the team that won the V.League 2024/25. Coach Polking highly appreciated the quality of the home team's squad: "Nam Dinh is a team with a very strong defense and attack system. The upcoming match promises to be very exciting as both teams have many quality players, not to mention the new players that have just been added."

Mr. Polking also expects the Super Cup match to bring emotions to the fans: "I believe that the fans are looking forward to this confrontation. This is a match between the two strongest teams at the moment. When the starting whistle blows, we will try to win the first title of the season."
For his part, goalkeeper Nguyen Filip does not want to repeat the sad memory of the 2023 National Super Cup, when CAHN lost to Thanh Hoa . “Until now, the loss in the Super Cup that year is still an unforgettable memory for me. This time, the whole team and I have prepared carefully so as not to have any more regrets. We want to open the new season with a victory and a title,” Filip affirmed.
The National Super Cup will take place on August 9 at Thien Truong Stadium. Tickets are available in four denominations: 20,000, 40,000, 60,000 and 80,000 VND. The match will use VAR technology, with an excellent referee team from last season.
CAHN will not only compete for the title, but also want to demonstrate the strength of a team that is aiming for bigger goals in the 2025/26 season.
