Hackers are using a “no-reply phishing” tactic to send fake emails from Google-like addresses like no-reply@accounts.google.com. The email usually carries an urgent warning message such as “unusual login detected” and includes a link to a fake Google login page.
When the user enters their account and password on the fake site, the information is immediately sent back to the scammer. Google has confirmed that they never ask to log in again via email links.
Cybersecurity experts recommend not clicking on any links without verifying the sender. The FBI warns that similar scams have increased more than 5,000% in the past two weeks, targeting Amazon, banks and shipping companies. “With basic awareness and awareness, most attacks are preventable,” EasyDMARC emphasizes.
