Flash flood and landslide warning in 12 provinces
The meteorological agency said that currently, soil moisture in some areas of the provinces of Son La, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang , Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Quang Ninh and Thanh Hoa is nearly saturated (over 90%) or already saturated.
In the next 6 hours, in the above provinces, there will continue to be rain with accumulated rainfall ranging from 30 - 60 mm, in some places over 100 mm, so there is a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.

2 dead, 1 injured due to natural disaster
On the same morning, the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control said that heavy rain and landslides on August 22-23 in the provinces of Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Ben Tre and Thu Duc City (HCMC) caused damage to people and property.
Accordingly, there were 2 deaths (Ben Tre 1, Ho Chi Minh City 1); 1 injured (Ha Giang); 145 houses collapsed and damaged; 79 hectares of rice and crops were damaged (Ha Giang 5 hectares, Cao Bang 74 hectares); 3 schools, 1 village cultural house were eroded; 50 m of irrigation canal was eroded; 7 traffic routes had their talus eroded, the road surface was buried by soil, and have now been cleared.
