Chief Inspector of the Department of Health becomes Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine

(Dan Tri) - On the morning of June 20, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health awarded the decision to appoint Dr. Ho Van Han as Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine.

Previously, on June 17, Associate Professor Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, signed a decision to transfer and appoint Mr. Ho Van Han, Chief Inspector of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , to the position of Director of the Institute of Traditional Medicine, under the Department of Health . The term of office is 5 years.

Mr. Ho Van Han is entitled to the leadership position allowance coefficient according to regulations and is responsible for completing the handover of the work he is in charge of to the Board of Directors of the Department of Health within 15 days from the effective date of the decision (June 20).

Speaking at the appointment decision handover ceremony, Associate Professor Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, said that the title "Director" will be different from "Director" and has important significance.

The Institute is an agency specializing in research and training, and the Director is a person with expertise in this field. The Director is the title to operate, manage, and comply with legal regulations of a public service unit.

From July 1, Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country will switch to operating under a two-level government mechanism, and the health sector will also have appropriate changes, including urgently re-appointing personnel of affiliated units, including the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine.

Upon reappointment, the Directors will become Deputy Directors.

The Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health expressed his hope that Dr. Ho Van Han - who has been tested in many positions - will soon integrate into the very special environment of a unit specializing in traditional medicine at the end of the line, creating conditions for medical staff to develop well.

According to the advice of the Medical Affairs Department, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health will soon organize a conference between experts to advise and orient the in-depth development of traditional medicine in hospitals.

“In the coming days, Ho Chi Minh City will have new traditional medicine hospitals from Vung Tau and Binh Duong.

The role of the Institute of Traditional Medicine is very important, in working with the city's hospitals to continue developing traditional medicine in the right direction of Ho Chi Minh City.

That is to become the ASEAN regional health care center,” Mr. Thuong said, hoping that the key staff of the Institute will overcome difficulties to develop this place and complete the tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the health sector.

Receiving the direction of the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, specialist doctor 2 Ho Van Han thanked the Department's leaders for entrusting him with the important responsibility of being the head of a unit specializing in traditional medicine at the country's final level.

According to Mr. Han, the traditional medicine industry is facing new opportunities and requirements, as Ho Chi Minh City is about to have a new population size after merging with provinces, the needs for health care and medical examination and treatment are very diverse.

Mr. Han pledged to work with all medical staff of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine to unite and join forces, to increase the application of science and technology... to help this place continue to develop strongly and properly.

Mr. Ho Van Han (53 years old) is a specialist in medical management, having held positions such as Deputy Director of Gia Dinh People's Hospital and Director of Go Vap District Hospital (HCMC).

In April 2023, specialist doctor Ho Van Han was appointed Chief Inspector of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health and has been working in this position until now.
