Summer temperatures here currently top 40 degrees Celsius in the Mojave Desert, a harsh reality that could even make for an “omelette” on Las Vegas Boulevard.

The number of visitors to Las Vegas in March 2025 fell 7.8% compared to March 2024, the third consecutive month of year-over-year declines, according to recently released city tourism statistics.

According to the National Travel and Tourism Office, this decline is seen in a general trend across the country.

Tourism statistics comparing visitor numbers from the first quarter of 2025 to the first quarter of 2024 show a 6.9% drop to 9.7 million arrivals.

Steve Hill, CEO and chairman of the city's tourism board, said the downturn was partly due to the hot season, or possibly the impact of US policies.

In response to the tourism slowdown, many overnight or day-trip destinations have launched cheap deals on accommodation, parking, admission tickets and more.

Discounts also apply at new attractions, amusement parks and restaurants around town.

Summer savings

Hotel deals start updating in early June.

The Plaza Hotel & Casino in the city center is the first hotel to launch an all-inclusive package.

Specifically, the program offers one room, two meals a day at restaurants; unlimited alcoholic beverages for $125 per person per night.

Meanwhile, The Strat Hotel, Casino & Tower also launched a package with prices of $49 a night on weeknights and $99 a night on weekends.

This deal includes taxes and fees, a $25 daily food and beverage credit, and free admission to the Observatory on the 108th and 109th floors—a further savings of up to $36.95.

Even casino resorts and attractions on the Las Vegas Strip are getting in on the action.

Resorts World Las Vegas, which includes the Hilton, Conrad and Crockfords brands, recently announced its “Escape to Summer” package, which offers 40% off room rates and a $75 daily resort credit for dining, cocktails and cabanas.

Hay Resorts World has also stopped charging $18 a night for parking through August 28. This means the resort, along with Treasure Island, Sahara and Casino Royale, are the only casinos currently not charging for parking.

Additionally, Swingers, an adults-only indoor mini golf attraction inside the Mandalay Bay Resort Casino, is now allowing kids in before 6 p.m. daily through Aug. 31.

Prices are $18 for kids under 21 and $30 for adults; and there is also a "Kids Package" that includes a round of golf, a kids meal, and a soft drink or juice for $35.

Some resorts and other destinations even announce special promotions exclusively for locals.

Most of these deals are listed on Locals Unlocked Las Vegas — a new informational website run by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority that launched in early June.

Refreshing many opportunities

Notably, Las Vegas is also a destination that is constantly innovating to stimulate tourism, with several notable attractions and restaurants opening in recent weeks.

First, the Hall of Excellence, a museum at Fontainebleau Las Vegas that showcases iconic memorabilia from the sports and entertainment industries over the past 100 years.

Meanwhile, Grand Prix Plaza is also the center of activity during the city's annual Formula 1 race.

The Grand Prix Plaza announced this week that a 12-minute simulator that will create a virtual F1 driving experience at 200mph will be open to the public for free throughout July.

Elsewhere in town, dining and party spots also attract visitors.

Meanwhile, the Venetian Las Vegas recently opened a vibrant sushi bar and food hall, along with a branch of legendary Florence sandwich shop All'Antico Vinaio.

The former serves delicious sushi rolls with optional fresh grated wasabi; it's also known for its focaccia sandwiches with fillings like prosciutto and spicy eggplant.
