The Cong Viettel faced Hanoi FC in an international friendly tournament with the participation of Bali United (Indonesia) and Daejon Hana Citizen (Korea).

Midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc was sent onto the field by coach Duc Thang from the start. This was Hoang Duc's first match after recovering from a left ankle injury that caused him to be removed from the Vietnam squad for the 2023 Asian Cup.

In addition to Hoang Duc, The Cong Viettel also welcomed the return of central defender Bui Tien Dung - a player who also missed the 2023 Asian Cup due to physical problems.

Coach Duc Thang let Hoang Duc and Tien Dung play the full 90 minutes to assess the recovery of these two players.

On Hanoi FC's side, central defender Thanh Chung also returned after injury, entering the field as a substitute in the 81st minute.

In this match, The Cong Viettel played more aggressively but could not score. Hanoi FC also had good chances to score but could not take advantage. The 0-0 draw forced the two teams to enter a penalty shootout to determine the winner.

Van Quyet, Denilson and Dau Van Toan successfully shot the first three shots of Hanoi FC. On The Cong side, Bui Tien Dung and Hoang Duc successfully shot the first two shots before Duong Van Hao failed to beat goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan in the third shot.

However, in the last two rounds, Brandon Wilson and Thanh Chung of Hanoi FC both sent the ball over the bar, while Manh Cuong and Nham Manh Dung completed their mission to help The Cong Viettel win 4-3 overall.
