Vinh Thong Ward Police caught 16 people gambling on cockfighting

On the afternoon of August 1, Vinh Thong Ward Police (An Giang Province) said they were consolidating records and handling a gambling case in the form of cockfighting for money, involving 16 people, at an empty lot in Group 19, Ta Tay Quarter, Vinh Thong Ward.

At around 11:00 a.m. on August 1, Vinh Thong Ward Police ( An Giang Province) discovered that at an empty lot in Group 19, Ta Tay Quarter, many people were gathering to gamble in the form of cockfighting for money.

Immediately, Vinh Thong Ward Police and local security forces quickly deployed forces to surround and arrest. Hearing the police call, the gamblers ran away in all directions. However, the police arrested 16 people involved.

At the scene, the police seized 4 chickens, 6 pairs of iron spurs and some other related evidence. Searching the subjects, the police seized nearly 50 million VND.

Initially, the gamblers confessed that there was someone who organized the gambling den, collected the money, and assigned people to guard the road and keep an eye out for the police. Each cockfight, the gamblers won or lost from 500,000 VND to several million VND.

Currently, the Vinh Thong Ward Police continue to verify, investigate and clarify the case and arrest the remaining subjects for handling according to the provisions of law.
