On June 16, according to information from Ho Chi Minh City Police, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention of the City Police coordinated with a number of professional units to verify and summon Mr. NHAD (born in 1967, residing in Binh Hung Commune, Binh Chanh District) - owner of the Facebook account "Dung Dinh" to work on the act of posting false content about the incident of a group of people attacking the headquarters of the People's Committee of a commune in Dak Lak province.

At the police station, NHAD stated that while accessing social networks, he noticed many people spreading information about the attack on the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province; due to frustration over previous personal issues, NHAD used his personal social network account to post fabricated and untrue information to direct public opinion towards the land dispute between the people and the local government.
According to the Police, NHAD's actions violated Point d, Clause 1, Article 101, Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP dated February 3, 2020 of the Government stipulating administrative sanctions for violations in the fields of post and telecommunications, radio frequencies, information technology and electronic transactions (amended and supplemented in Decree No. 14/2022/ND-CP).
Based on the level of violation, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has decided to administratively fine NHAD 7.5 million VND. At the same time, NHAD was forced to remove the information with the violating content that he posted.
Ho Chi Minh City Police recommend that people absolutely do not post or share false, unverified information on social networks, causing public panic and affecting security and order.
