In 2016, Mr. Makoto Teguramori was appointed as the head coach of the Japan U23 team to participate in the U23 Asian finals. The squad Mr. Makoto used at that time included some of Japan's top talents such as Wataru Endo, Shoya Nakajima, Takuma Asano and Takumi Minamino.
