Bamboo Airways Board of Directors has just appointed Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai as CEO to replace Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan from May 24.

According to Bamboo Airways, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan has submitted his resignation from the position of General Director. Mr. Quan has assumed this role since July 2022. Previously, he was Deputy General Director since July 2020 and Permanent Deputy General Director since September 2020.

Under Mr. Quan's leadership, Bamboo Airways has achieved many positive results in its operations and business activities. Despite the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Bamboo Airways has set high revenue milestones in the second half of 2022 thanks to its innovative operations and business plans. By the end of the first quarter of 2023, the airline's fleet operating capacity will reach nearly 100%.

Mr. Quan will be replaced by Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai. Born in 1972, Mr. Hai holds a bachelor's degree in Tourism Business Management from the National Economics University. Mr. Hai has 25 years of experience in the aviation industry. He was Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines (April 2015 to January 2019) and General Director of Cambodia Angkor Air.

In the middle of last week, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of this airline also said that Bamboo Airways may have drastic changes in both senior positions in the Board of Directors and the Executive Board. In the immediate future, Mr. Hideki Oshima, former Director of International Relations and Airline Alliances of Japan Airlines, will join the Board of Directors of Bamboo Airways and the Executive Board. Mr. Masaru Onishi, former President of Japan Airlines, will serve as Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors of Bamboo Airways.

Japan Airlines is the second largest airline in Japan. At the end of 2019, Japan Airlines also proposed extensive cooperation with Bamboo Airways during a meeting between the two airlines' leaders in Hanoi .
