A bamboo toothpick was removed from the intestine of patient L.

Previously, patient NTL (38 years old, living in Vinh Cuu, Dong Nai) was taken to the emergency room by his family in a state of severe pain around the navel.

The patient's family said that Mr. L had a habit of drinking water while holding a toothpick in his mouth, so it is possible that the toothpick was swallowed.

After doing tests, the doctors diagnosed Mr. L with peritonitis and intestinal perforation caused by a bamboo toothpick.

Doctors performed laparoscopic surgery to remove a bamboo toothpick more than 3cm long from the patient's abdomen, sutured the hole, and cleaned the abdominal drainage.
