General Trinh Van Quyet and the delegation offered incense at the Khuon Manh forest relic site, Trang Xa commune, Thai Nguyen province.

The Khuon Manh forest area is where the Second National Salvation Army Platoon was born. Here, on September 15, 1941, under the canopy of the Khuon Manh forest, the Second National Salvation Army, with 36 officers and soldiers, was later merged with other revolutionary armed forces to become the Vietnam Liberation Army, the predecessor of the Vietnam People's Army, was established.

In 1994, this place was recognized as a National Historical Relic. After many times of restoration and embellishment, the National Historical Relic of the establishment of the Second National Salvation Army in Khuon Manh Forest has become spacious, becoming a red address to organize revolutionary tradition education activities for generations and also an impressive destination for tourists in activities of combining tourism and historical exploration.

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere at the historical forest, General Trinh Van Quyet and members of the delegation respectfully offered incense and flowers to commemorate and express their deep gratitude to the revolutionary cadres, soldiers, and predecessors who heroically fought and sacrificed for the revolution, for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

After the incense offering ceremony and commemorative tree planting ceremony at the relic site, General Trinh Van Quyet and his delegation visited the relic site’s exhibition house. This is where many valuable artifacts related to the training and living activities of the National Salvation Army II in its early days are kept.

General Trinh Van Quyet and delegates listened to an introduction to the exhibits at the relic site's exhibition house.

Here, General Trinh Van Quyet had a friendly chat with the officers and staff of the relic site; asked about the operation situation; and at the same time hoped that the local Party Committee and government would continue to pay attention, do a good job of preserving, embellishing and further promoting historical values, so that the relic site would become a meaningful destination in educating revolutionary traditions, fostering ideals of life, patriotism, pride and national self-respect for generations.

* On the same day, at the Vo Nhai commune administrative center, General Trinh Van Quyet and the Central Working Delegation and leaders of Military Region 1, Thai Nguyen province met, visited and presented 50 gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions in Vo Nhai commune. During the meeting and gift-giving, General Trinh Van Quyet kindly asked about the health and life and sent his best wishes to the wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions.

General Trinh Van Quyet spoke at the meeting and presented gifts to meritorious people and policy families in Vo Nhai commune.

General Trinh Van Quyet emphasized that the Party, State and Army always respect and deeply appreciate the great sacrifices and contributions of heroic martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers and people with meritorious services to the revolution in the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the Fatherland. This is also the traditional morality of "remembering the source of water" of the Vietnamese people, passed down for generations, always preserved and promoted by generations.
