At the 2024 National Labor Productivity Improvement Forum, Mr. Mai Thien An - a member of the grassroots union of Intel Products Vietnam Co., Ltd. ( Ho Chi Minh City) acknowledged that currently, many workers are still not really interested in and prioritize training, raising awareness, organizing discipline and industrial style.
For example, not following the rules, working hours, and working style such as being late, leaving early, or taking breaks at the wrong time. Along with that, being at the office on time for roll call, then having breakfast and drinking tea causes work delays. Not following the regulations on safety and occupational hygiene causes injuries and even death.
Or taking leave without a valid reason; poor coordination at work; ineffective teamwork. Failure to comply with production processes leads to defective products affecting product quality, affecting the business brand and the trust of partners...
However, the reality of production and business in all enterprises in the world has proven: Training industrial style, raising awareness and labor discipline for workers are important factors contributing to improving labor productivity.
Enterprises that want to improve product quality and brand require workers to have good education, skills, soft skills and work ethic. Workers who want to increase their income must have good professional skills, attitude, awareness and behavior.

Mr. An, like many Vietnamese citizens, wants our country to become a developed, high-income country by 2045, in which improving labor productivity is the main driving force.
Therefore, Mr. Mai Thien An proposed and recommended that there should be more forms of teaching and equipping industrial style for workers from an early age to become "habits, ways of thinking, ways of working" while still in school, considering orientation at appropriate levels.
For example, basic learning from high school level for common workers, advanced learning for intermediate, college and university levels and consider the learning content suitable for the profession they are studying, because each different profession also requires different industrial styles.
There are financial regulations that allow grassroots unions to have enough resources to invest or spend on training, propaganda, and rewards for industrial style and labor discipline.
According to Ms. Truong Thi Thu Ha - Representative of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company ( BSR ), in 26 years of construction and development, each idea and initiative of the workers has contributed to bringing the factory into commercial operation with safety, stability and development up to now.
BSR representative said that innovation activities have truly been a lever through which each employee can develop their full potential, break through with their intelligence and courage to participate in promoting production development, improving labor productivity and product quality.
At the forum, Ms. Ha also requested the Ministry of Science and Technology to consider and issue a circular with detailed instructions on the payment of remuneration to Authors/co-authors of recognized innovation initiatives. This is a recognition and a great motivation for workers who are passionate about scientific research .
