Propose that the Government continue to urge the implementation of the Youth Law

On the afternoon of January 8, the 3rd National Committee Conference on Vietnamese Youth took place in Hanoi , chaired by Mr. Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth; and Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth.

Reporting at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam said that in 2023, the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth completed the assigned tasks. In 2024, the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth requested the Government and the Prime Minister to continue to direct and urge the implementation of the 2020 Youth Law and legal documents guiding its implementation.

At the same time, it is recommended that the Government and the Prime Minister direct ministries and branches to promptly promulgate, within their authority, or submit to competent authorities for approval, programs, tasks, projects assigned to preside over in the Prime Minister's decision promulgating the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the 2021-2030 period. Up to now, only 9/30 tasks, programs, projects and proposals under the strategy have been approved and implemented.

The National Committee on Vietnamese Youth also proposed to issue a Directive of the Prime Minister on promoting the implementation of the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the period 2021 - 2030; direct the summary and evaluation to propose amendments and supplements to Decree No. 140/2017 dated December 5, 2017 of the Government on policies to attract and create sources of cadres from excellent graduates and young scientists; Decree No. 12/2011 dated December 5, 2011 of the Government on organization and policies for youth volunteers, to suit current practices.
