The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that currently, a strong cold air mass in the North is being strengthened and added to the South. The mountainous areas of the North are already very cold, with some places experiencing severe cold.
The influence of cold air is increasing strongly, from tonight, January 21, the North and Thanh Hoa will be very cold. From the night of January 22, Nghe An to Ha Tinh will be very cold.

The widespread cold spell in the North and Thanh Hoa is likely to last until around January 25; Nghe An and Ha Tinh may last until January 24. The lowest temperature in the North is generally 7-10 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous areas of the North 3-6 degrees Celsius, in the high mountains below 0 degrees Celsius in some places, and in the North Central region, it is generally 9-11 degrees Celsius.
In addition, from the afternoon and night of January 22, Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, in some places over 50mm.
