The leaders of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center have just signed a decision approving the plan to select a contractor to carry out the cleaning, preservation and repainting of peeling wooden structures at the Ngu Phung Pavilion (Ngo Mon Gate - Hue Imperial City).
This is one of the important items to preserve the aesthetic and architectural value of the works belonging to the Hue Monuments Complex - World Cultural Heritage.
According to the plan, the bid price for the construction package of cleaning and repainting the wooden structures at Ngu Phung Tower is 401,090,000 VND. This fund will be taken from the 2025 relic entrance fee revenue of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center. The time to start organizing the contractor selection is the third quarter of 2025 through the form of open domestic bidding via the Internet.

Previously, VTC News reported that the Ngu Phung Tower relic, despite having just received over 80 billion VND for restoration, has rapidly deteriorated after 4 years of reopening to welcome visitors. Most notably, the gilded lacquer items are peeling and fading. Some wooden structures on Ngu Phung Tower also show signs of damage and deterioration.
In addition, according to VTC News' reporter, many tiles and bricks on the Ngu Phung Palace relic, after 4 years of reopening to welcome visitors, are now having their outer glaze peeled off.

Mr. Phan Van Tuan - Deputy Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center admitted that the reason why the color layer of the structure has faded is mainly due to dust accumulated over many years and not being cleaned regularly, affecting the outer layer of the wooden structures on the monument.
According to the Deputy Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, a project completed in 6 years, during use, due to the impact of weather and climate, will be more or less affected and discolored.
Regarding the degraded brick and tile category, Mr. Phan Van Tuan said that this brick and tile section was produced by a factory under the Center, and the unit will evaluate it to determine the cause.
