On the evening of November 29, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that the unit had temporarily suspended Mr. Huynh Nguyen Loc (Director of the Institute of Traditional Medicine) from work and position after being prosecuted and temporarily detained by the Security Investigation Agency, Ministry of Public Security .
Mr. Huynh Nguyen Loc has held the position of Director of Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine from August 2015 to present.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , on November 25, after receiving notice from the Security Investigation Agency, Ministry of Public Security about the prosecution of Mr. Huynh Nguyen Loc (Director of the Institute of Traditional Medicine), the Department of Health sent a document reporting to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the leadership personnel situation of the Institute of Traditional Medicine.
Pursuant to the provisions of Decree 71/2023/ND-CP dated September 20, 2023 of the Government stipulating amendments and supplements to a number of articles of Decree 112/2020/ND-CP on "disciplinary action against cadres, civil servants and public employees", the Board of Directors of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health met and agreed to temporarily suspend work and temporarily suspend the position of Mr. Huynh Nguyen Loc.
The Department also agreed to assign Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Institute of Traditional Medicine, to be in charge of managing and operating activities, carrying out financial transactions, and performing the duties of the director until a decision is made by the competent authority.
Previously, on November 22, the Security Investigation Agency, Ministry of Public Security prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Huynh Nguyen Loc (Director of Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine) to investigate the act of accepting bribes.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, after Mr. Huynh Nguyen Loc was arrested, the Institute of Traditional Medicine is still operating normally.
Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine is the leading unit in charge of medical examination and treatment using traditional medicine and pharmacy in 19 southern provinces and cities (including Ho Chi Minh City) and 5 Central Highlands provinces.
