On September 29, Business Forum Magazine organized a Forum on Developing a Safe and Sustainable Agricultural Production Supply Chain to Help Improve Production Efficiency and Income for Farmers and Businesses.
Speaking at the forum, Mr. Vo Tan Thanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry, said that in the context of globalization, Vietnamese goods are increasingly competing fiercely with foreign goods. Linking production with agricultural product consumption, linking raw material areas, and linking agricultural product value chains must play a key role. Thereby, goods are concentrated on a large scale, with stable output, creating competitiveness and enhancing the value chain for Vietnamese agricultural products.
Although the agricultural country has more than 1,700 controlled safe agricultural, forestry and aquatic food supply chains, only a few large corporations participate.

Along with the support of the state, Vietnamese enterprises must also move forward by investing appropriately in technology, linking to improve product quality and competitiveness. As the center of the chain, processing and exporting enterprises need to have close connections with the information systems of other members in the chain.
In addition, enterprises need to provide complete, accurate and timely information to all members in the chain, helping to better balance purchasing, storage and transportation; aiming to minimize fluctuations in supply and demand in the market; gradually meeting the requirements of tracing the origin of exported agricultural products.
In fact, serious cooperation and association is a premise to ensure that the participants in the value chain share benefits, responsibilities and invest effectively in the field of agricultural production and business, contributing to promoting the long-term development of a socialist-oriented market economy .
To participate in the safe and sustainable agricultural supply chain, the state first needs to create favorable conditions for businesses such as: continuing to improve quality standards and regulations, enhancing contract validity and perfecting the legal framework as well as direct support policies of the state, creating favorable conditions for development linkages.
