In the first 10 months of 2023, total retail sales of goods in Ha Tinh reached nearly 48,523 billion VND, an increase of 13.2% over the same period last year.

The sharp increase in gold prices caused revenue from the gemstone and precious metal industry in October to increase by 66.3% over the same period last year.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the trade and service situation in October and the first 10 months of the province grew steadily.

Total retail sales of goods in October reached about VND5,173 billion, up 2.64% over the previous month and up 6.91% over the same period last year.

Most product groups saw revenue increase compared to the same period last year, with the strongest increase in the gemstone and precious metal group (up 66.3%) due to record high prices of gold and jewelry.

In the first 10 months of 2023, the total retail sales of goods in the province reached nearly 48,523 billion VND, an increase of 13.2% over the same period last year.

Of the 12 product groups, 10 groups had revenue growth compared to the same period last year. Some groups saw strong growth, such as: wood and construction materials (up 38.5%); cultural and educational products (up 35%); precious stones, precious metals and other products (up 27%); petroleum products of all kinds (up 26.5%); household appliances, tools and equipment (up 23%)...

Total retail sales of goods in the province in 10 months reached nearly 48,523 billion VND.

The two product groups with revenue decreasing in the first 10 months compared to the same period last year were passenger cars with less than 9 seats (down 31%) and means of transport (down 41%). According to analysis by the functional sector, this year, the impact of the economic recession causing people to tighten their spending, and the sluggish real estate market are the main factors affecting the decrease in revenue of these two product groups.

In the last months of the year, it is forecasted that people's shopping needs will increase, especially for essential consumer goods, food, construction materials, etc. Along with policies and programs to stimulate consumption at the end of the year, retail activities in the whole province are expected to be more vibrant, contributing to increased revenue and promoting the development of the trade and service sector.
