Facing the problem of declining physical strength and low morale after the 1-3 loss to Indonesia, the Vietnamese volleyball team showed that they are the true nemesis of the Thai volleyball team when they defeated this opponent in the SEA V.League.

In the first round of the SEA V.League held last week in the Philippines, Vietnam was the only team to defeat Thailand, and then this team won the championship after winning all the remaining opponents. In the second round today, Coach Tran Dinh Tien's students "sow sorrow" for their opponents again.

Nguyen Ngoc Thuan shines with the Vietnamese volleyball team

Nguyen Ngoc Thuan and Quan Trong Nghia were the two Vietnamese players who performed impressively in the first set with a series of direct points from their serves and fierce attacks. The Thai team's defense was broken by the sharp attacks of the Vietnamese team. Therefore, the Vietnamese team won 25/19 in the first set.

The second game saw the Thai players explode when they pushed the Vietnamese team into a passive defense and won 25/16, equalizing the score 1-1. Nguyen Ngoc Thuan and his teammates exploded again in game 3, winning 25/21, taking the lead 2-1. However, the Thai team's mettle was shown in game 4 when they won 25/19, equalizing the score 2-2.

The Thai players played brilliantly at the beginning of the decisive game 5, continuously leading the score, but Nguyen Ngoc Thuan shined to help the Vietnamese team equalize the score before rising to win 15/11, thereby winning the final match 3-2.

The impressive victory over Thailand helped the Vietnamese team gain 5 points, rising to second place on the rankings when having the same points but losing the goal difference compared to the host Indonesia. On July 20, Nguyen Ngoc Thuan and his teammates will compete in the final match of the second leg of SEA V.League, facing the Philippines team. If they win, coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team will be in the top 3 overall.
