In recent years, in addition to investing in developing infrastructure for new rural construction, Tran De district (Soc Trang province) has also promoted propaganda and mobilized people to practice environmental sanitation and plant flowers to create beauty on new rural roads.
The model new rural flower road in Day Huong 2 hamlet, Thanh Thoi An commune, Tran De district (Soc Trang province) plants yellow trumpet vine, portulaca, and cotton trees, contributing to making the landscape and environment cleaner and more beautiful.
In 2023, the road in Day Huong 2 hamlet, Thanh Thoi An commune, was invested in by Tran De district (Soc Trang province) to be expanded by 3m, with a length of more than 1.5km.
To create a clean and beautiful landscape, the local people have been encouraged to plant flowers, build fences, and decorate their houses. Now this road has a new, vibrant appearance with the colors of many types of flowers.
Mr. Diep Van Ut, Day Huong 2 Hamlet, Thanh Thoi An Commune, shared: “When the locality launched the construction of a model new rural flower road, the people in the hamlet responded very enthusiastically. Some people brought flowers from the 10 o'clock flower, the night-blooming cereus, and the white-flowered marigold to plant, then together they took care of them, weeded them, etc. Through that, not only did the country road become more beautiful, but the village and neighborhood relationships became increasingly closer.”
Mr. Nguyen Hai Quan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Thoi An Commune, Tran De District (Soc Trang Province) said: "To implement the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the People's Committee of the Commune has developed a plan to launch the registration of hamlets to implement 01 model new rural road.
Through the campaign, up to now, all hamlets of the commune have flower roads, and people have responded very positively, joining the locality in planting flowers and cleaning the environment. Since then, the appearance of Thanh Thoi An commune has changed more and more clearly, the goal is to complete the construction of a new countryside by the end of 2024."
As for Vien An New Rural Commune, planting flowers along the new rural roads has been carried out by associations, unions and people for many years.
Up to now, all hamlets in the commune have new rural flower roads, of which the road in Bung Sa hamlet is undertaken by the Commune Women's Union.
Ms. Thach Thi Chanh Thi, President of the Women's Union of Vien An commune, said: "To implement the annual emulation plan, the Union has registered with the Party Committee to implement a model of a new rural flower road.
After registration, the Association promoted and mobilized female members to participate in implementing the new rural flower road.
Although busy with farm work, the women still arrange time on weekends to weed, take care of trees, take care of flowers, and clean the environment, creating a green, clean, and beautiful landscape while responding to the "5 no 3 clean" movement.

People's sense of responsibility in environmental protection has also been raised.
Mr. Kim Quo, Bung Triet Hamlet, Lieu Tu Commune, Tran De District (Soc Trang Province) shared: "When the local government launched the construction of new rural areas, the people were very supportive and responsive. Implementing the national target program on new rural construction, up to now, Tran De district has 7/9 communes meeting new rural standards, of which 2 communes have met advanced new rural standards.
