The 200 MP camera system on the Galaxy S25 Ultra is a notable highlight, but recently there has been an error that has made users unhappy. Specifically, some reports said that the ultra-wide-angle camera has an abnormal flickering phenomenon during use, directly affecting the quality of photos and videos .

This phenomenon has been recorded since the beginning of the year but became more obvious after the device updated to One UI 7 last June, especially with firmware version G928U1UEU2BXF7. The problem not only causes blurry images but is also accompanied by a slight "clacking" sound from the camera cluster when the error occurs.

A video shared by @Samoneui8 on social media X clearly illustrates this flickering situation. At the same time, on forums such as Reddit and Samsung's official support page, more and more users are reporting unpleasant experiences when using the camera after the new update.

The flickering issue on the Galaxy S25 Ultra's ultra-wide camera may be hardware-related. While it's not a widespread issue, the same phenomenon has been reported on previous models like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Notably, basic fixes like clearing the cache, restarting the device, or performing a factory reset have not worked, raising suspicions that this is a hardware-related issue rather than a software bug.

So far, Samsung has not made any official announcement about this error. However, some users have shared that they have had their camera modules replaced through the official warranty. This suggests that Samsung may have noted the problem internally and is quietly handling each specific case when users report it.

According to technical sources, the potential cause could be the ultra-wide camera’s focus motor – which lacks optical image stabilization (OIS), making it prone to errors when adjusting focus. The lack of OIS could cause the camera cluster to respond incorrectly, resulting in slight shaking and flickering when taking photos or recording video.

The flickering issue on the Galaxy S25 Ultra's ultra-wide camera may be hardware-based.

Meanwhile, some Samsung support staff suggested that indoor lighting could be causing the flickering due to frequency conflicts with the camera. However, this explanation did not convince many users, especially when they noticed physical vibrations coming from the camera cluster – a sign that is more often related to hardware failure than a normal lighting effect.

The June software update brings a number of notable improvements to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, including smoother transitions and some new AI features. However, the majority of users have not encountered any serious issues after the update, suggesting that the update may not be the direct cause of the camera issue.

For those who are experiencing unusual flickering or shaking on the ultra-wide lens, it is recommended to take the device to an authorized Samsung service center, where a technician will check whether the device is eligible for repair or replacement of the camera module under warranty.

The issue appears to only affect a small number of devices at the moment, but the growing number of user reports makes it more noticeable. Samsung has yet to make an official statement, leaving the user community waiting to see if the company plans to fix it more widely in the near future.
