On August 3, the 25th Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross Country Race took place in Vung Tau City, organized by Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper. After 24 times of hosting, from a grassroots tournament with only a few hundred athletes participating the first time, with each organization, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross Country Race has continuously grown, becoming a regional-scale grassroots sports tournament.

Mr. Truong Duc Nghia, Editor-in-Chief of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, said that over the years, the tournament has always had strong changes towards becoming more professional in terms of organization, gradually increasing in scale, reflected in the number of athletes participating in the tournament each year being higher than the previous year. The professional quality has also improved when attracting many famous athletes in the Vietnamese athletics community to participate in the competition.
The race starts early in the morning.
"Building on the success of previous seasons, in this year's 25th season, the organizing committee decided to improve the quality of the tournament. Along with that, the benefits of athletes are also increased, the number of prizes is greater and the total prize value is higher, up to 350 million VND, an increase of about 30% compared to last year", Mr. Truong Duc Nghia shared.
An athlete finished early
The 25th Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross Country Race has nearly 3,200 athletes from 56 provinces and cities nationwide registered to compete (in 2023 there will be 36 provinces and cities).
The 25th race had nearly 3,200 athletes participating.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dang Minh Thong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, affirmed that the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper cross-country race has become a traditional tournament, organized annually, maintained for many years, contributing to promoting strong and even development in both breadth and depth for the sports movement in the locality and the whole Southeast region.
Leaders of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Propaganda Department joined the run.
The Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross Country Race took place on the coastal route Thuy Van - Ha Long - Quang Trung - Tran Phu of Vung Tau City, introducing the image of a beautiful, potential, friendly and hospitable Ba Ria - Vung Tau to domestic and international friends.
