The 2024 National Excellent Chinese Chess Championship and National Chinese Chess Club Cup are organized by the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City in coordination with the Vietnam Chinese Chess Federation. This is an important event to develop the movement of physical training and competition in general and Chinese chess in particular, creating a competitive movement and intellectual sports playground, improving work efficiency, contributing to building a healthy cultural life, enhancing the spirit of solidarity, exchanging and learning between provinces and cities nationwide.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh - Chairman of the Vietnam Chess Federation said: " The 2024 National Excellent Chess Championship and the National Chess Club Cup held in Buon Ma Thuot city is an opportunity for players across the country to meet, exchange, share experiences and competition skills, and strengthen the spirit of solidarity among athletes.

Through the organization of the tournament, it is hoped that many cultural beauties and tourism potentials of Dak Lak province in general and Buon Ma Thuot city in particular will be widely promoted to other provinces and cities in the country and international friends; at the same time, promote the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to start a business and protect the country" among young people, contributing to improving health to serve study, work, production, construction and protection of the Fatherland".

The National Excellent Chess Championship gathered 83 excellent players. The National Chess Club Cup had more than 200 players from 22 clubs from provinces and cities (Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Vung Tau, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Nong and Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak, ...).

Players will compete in standard chess, rapid chess, men's and women's blitz chess and rapid chess for both men and women.
