Domestically, according to data from the Department of Animal Health, from the beginning of 2023 to now, the country has had 481 outbreaks of African swine fever in 42 provinces and cities, forcing the destruction of over 18,000 pigs.
Foot and mouth disease has 22 outbreaks of type O in 15 districts and towns of 11 provinces and cities nationwide, with 760 infected cattle and 26 culled. Lumpy skin disease has 100 outbreaks in 15 provinces and cities, with 468 infected cattle and 95 culled buffaloes and cows. Blue ear disease has 5 outbreaks, with 542 pigs dead and culled.
According to the Department of Animal Health, the risk of recurrence and spread of livestock and poultry diseases in the coming time remains high. In particular, there is a risk of African swine fever recurring and spreading widely in the coming time, because this disease virus can survive for a long time in the environment, and the transmission route is very complicated.
