The price of live pigs today, November 10, in the Southern region decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, fluctuating between 51,000 - 55,000 VND/kg.

* Pig price in the Northern region decreased by 1,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, 49,000 VND/kg is the transaction price recorded in Lao Cai , Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh and Tuyen Quang after a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg.

Pigs in Yen Bai and Thai Binh were purchased at 50,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg.

Today's live pig price in the North is around 49,000 - 51,000 VND/kg.

* The live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands regions decreased by 1,000 VND/kg.

Currently, traders in Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh are purchasing at 49,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg.

The remaining provinces have no price adjustments.

Currently, the purchase price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 49,000 - 53,000 VND/kg.

* Pig price in the Southern region decreased by 1,000 VND/kg.

In detail, live pigs in Soc Trang and Tay Ninh were purchased at VND52,000/kg and VND53,000/kg, down VND1,000/kg. Transactions in the remaining localities were stable.

The price of live pigs in the Southern region today is around 51,000 - 55,000 VND/kg.

* According to the General Department of Customs, meat and meat product exports increased again in the third quarter of 2023, reaching 5.78 thousand tons, worth 28.37 million USD, up 27.4% in volume and 19% in value compared to the second quarter of 2023; compared to the third quarter of 2022, up 45% in volume and 33.9% in value.

In the first 9 months of 2023, Vietnam exported 16,160 tons of meat and meat products, worth 77.85 million USD, up 28.4% in volume and 39.3% in value over the same period in 2022.

On the other hand, Vietnam's imports of meat and meat products in the third quarter of 2023 reached 195,09 thousand tons, worth 397.16 million USD, up 18.2% in volume and 21.5% in value compared to the second quarter of 2023; Compared to the third quarter of 2022, it increased by 1.8% in volume but decreased by 4.9% in value.

In the third quarter of 2023, Vietnam imported 39.41 thousand tons of pork (HS 0203), worth 98.25 million USD, up 45.5% in volume and 35.4% in value compared to the second quarter of 2023; Compared to the third quarter of 2022, it increased 23.9% in volume and 46.3% in value.

Pork imports have increased continuously since May 2023, however, the average pork import volume is only about 3%-4% of the total pork production of the country. This is a small number and not enough to affect the price of live pigs and domestic pork prices.
