The 18th Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award and 7 thematic journalism awards

Works submitted to the 18th Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award must reflect the land and people of Quang Nam and have been used in mass media nationwide from March 24, 2023 to March 23, 2024.

Accordingly, print newspapers have 2 types of awards: journalism awards (including genres of reportage, notes, memoirs, and memoirs) and awards for reflections, reports, snapshots, interviews, investigations, investigative reports, commentary, essays, and editorials. Visual newspapers have 2 types of awards, including long reports, documentaries, and short reports, online discussions.

Spoken newspapers have one type of award for the following categories: reports, live radio programs, reports, snapshots, reports, and investigations. Electronic newspapers have one type of award for the following categories: multimedia reports (integrating written articles, photos, videos , or audio), graphic works (infographics, videographics), and e-magazines (longform). Photojournalism has one type of award for the following categories: single photos, photo reports, and photo series.

The first, second, third and encouragement prizes of the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award are 15 million VND, 10 million VND, 8 million VND and 4 million VND/prize respectively.

 Within the framework of the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award, the Quang Nam Journalists Association in coordination with the Provincial Social Insurance, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the People's Committee of Nam Tra My district, the Department of Information and Communications, the Quang Nam Forest Protection and Development Fund; the Quang Nam Provincial Market Management Department and the Provincial Creative Startup Support Steering Committee organized 7 specialized journalism awards in 2024.

The Social Insurance Propaganda Press Award is a work in 3 categories: audio and electronic newspapers; visual newspapers; printed newspapers with the award structure for each category including 1 First prize (10 million VND), 1 Second prize (7 million VND), 2 Third prizes (4 million VND/prize); 2 Encouragement prizes (2 million VND/prize).

The Press Award for the Cause of Great Unity was presented to 5 works in the categories of print, visual, audio and electronic newspapers, with 1 First Prize (10 million VND); 2 Second Prizes (6 million VND/prize); 2 Third Prizes (4 million VND/prize).

The press and propaganda award on administrative reform and digital transformation was awarded to 7 works in the categories of print, visual, audio and electronic newspapers with a value of 8 million VND/work.

The press and propaganda award on Ngoc Linh ginseng and Quang Nam medicinal herbs was awarded to 3 works in the categories of print, visual, audio and electronic newspapers with a value of 7 million VND/work.

The Quang Nam Province Press Award for Propaganda on Forest Environmental Service Payment Policy and Forest Protection awarded 5 press works in print, visual, audio and electronic media with a prize of 7 million VND/prize.

The journalism and propaganda award on startups and innovation will be awarded to 5 works in print, visual and electronic newspapers with a prize of 8 million VND/prize.

The press and propaganda award on the prevention of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods will be awarded to 3 works in the categories of print, visual and electronic newspapers, including 1 first prize, 1 second prize and 1 third prize with prize values of 8 million VND, 6 million VND and 3 million VND/prize respectively.

All entries for the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award and thematic journalism awards must be published and broadcast on mass media from March 24, 2023 to March 23, 2024. The deadline for submission of works is from now until May 10, 2024 according to the postmark . The summary and award ceremony will be held on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, June 21, 2024.
