Director of Cho Ray Hospital becomes Deputy Minister of Health

On June 29, the Prime Minister signed a decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Director of Cho Ray Hospital (Ministry of Health ), to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Health . The term of appointment is 5 years, the decision takes effect from the date of signing.

Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc (51 years old, from Binh Dinh province) is a specialist II. He is the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health's grassroots block; Party Secretary and Director of Cho Ray Hospital; and a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

In 2019, Mr. Thuc was appointed as the director of Cho Ray Hospital. Previously, he was the deputy director of the hospital in charge of professional matters, deputy director of the Cardiovascular Center, head of the arrhythmia treatment department, and deputy head of the hospital's personnel organization department; general director of Cho Ray - Phnom Penh Hospital (Cambodia).

He has won many titles and awards during his work: Excellent Doctor (2017), Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister (2012), National Outstanding Young Face (2007), Outstanding Young Doctor of Vietnam (2011)...

During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc asked to be absent from the first session of the 15th National Assembly with the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation to operate the 1,000-bed intensive care hospital to treat severe and critical COVID-19 patients.

Under his leadership, hundreds of medical staff from Cho Ray Hospital supported Ho Chi Minh City in vaccination, community testing, and care and treatment of COVID-19 patients at field hospitals and the 1,000-bed intensive care hospital.

So far, the Ministry of Health's leadership includes Minister Dao Hong Lan and 5 deputy ministers: Tran Van Thuan, Do Xuan Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, Le Duc Luan and Nguyen Tri Thuc.
