The pair of dragons are assembled on both sides of Ba Sang Bridge, Ho Van Cong Street, Tuong Binh Hiep Ward, a unique ceramic space model, launched to celebrate the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024 and the 10th anniversary of the ward's establishment. The birth of the two dragon mascots has attracted everyone's attention, becoming a bustling check-in location since before Tet until now.
With a length of 29m, the model of two dragons is assembled from more than 14,000 traditional fired ceramic jars. Each part such as the head, body, scales and beard of the dragon is meticulously crafted from clay and fired in advance, especially the scales and beard, which are the smallest details but also the most difficult parts to assemble. Through the skillful hands of local artisans, these two dragons have become a unique work of art, expressing the characteristics of the traditional craft village.
The process from idea to completion of the model lasted more than 6 months, mobilizing the participation of nearly 50 workers.
Vice Chairwoman of Tuong Binh Hiep Ward People's Committee, Truong Thi Kieu Chinh, said that the dragon model not only has high artistic value but also aims to promote the image of the craft village and the traditional pottery craft of the locality in a creative and unique way. This is also an opportunity to create a new record for Vietnam in the field of ceramic art, contributing to enhancing the effect in the propaganda and promotion of the local traditional craft culture with the craft village that was born hundreds of years ago.
Currently, the two dragon mascots in Tuong Binh Hiep ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province have become a notable highlight, attracting the attention of many people inside and outside the province who come to visit and take photos as souvenirs when coming to Binh Duong province every day.
