Russian-Belarusian leaders meet, discuss possibility of trilateral cooperation with North Korea

At the meeting on September 15, President Putin told the head of Belarus: “I recently had a meeting with the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un. I would also like to inform you about how the discussion on the regional situation went – this is also very important, and of course, including the most urgent issues surrounding the situation and the crisis in Ukraine.”

According to Mr. Putin, the relationship between Russia and Belarus is developing steadily and reliably, accordingly the two sides will increasingly strengthen communication, consultation on relations and interaction.

For his part, President Lukashenko affirmed that Russia, Belarus and North Korea could think about the possibility of trilateral cooperation.

At the same time, he said that Minsk had recently supplied 60,000 tons of diesel, along with 60,000 tons of gasoline to Moscow, and was ready to increase shipments.

In addition, the head of Belarus also congratulated Mr. Putin on holding the regional elections, emphasizing that this was a “great success”.
