Lao Cai Customs collects nearly 145 billion VND in budget revenue, up 22%

(HQ Online) - The budget revenue of Lao Cai Customs Department in the first two months of the year increased significantly compared to the same period last year.

In February, Lao Cai Customs Department collected 47.4 billion VND in budget revenue, down 51% compared to the previous month. The revenue this month decreased sharply compared to the previous month due to the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday.

Despite the decrease in February, in general, the unit's budget revenue in the first two months of the year still increased significantly compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, by the end of February, the total revenue of Lao Cai Customs Department was 144.7 billion VND, an increase of 22% over the same period in 2023, reaching 13.7% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance (1,050 billion VND); reaching 6.3% of the target assigned by the People's Council and People's Committee of Lao Cai province (2,300 billion VND).

The two branches with the highest revenue are Lao Cai International Border Gate Customs Branch with 81.8 billion VND, reaching 13% of the target assigned by the Department (650 billion VND); Lao Cai International Railway Station Customs Branch with 62 billion VND, reaching 16% of the target assigned by the Department (393 billion VND).

Regarding import and export turnover, in February, Lao Cai Customs Department processed goods worth 93 million USD, down 29% compared to the previous month.

In general, from the beginning of the year to the end of March 2, 2024, import and export turnover through Lao Cai Customs reached 239.3 million USD, an increase of 39.3% over the same period in 2023.

Of which, exports reached 148.5 million USD, up 35.7%; imports reached 90.7 million USD, up 45.7%.

Main export items: All kinds of peeled wood, dragon fruit, durian, charcoal...; Main import items: Agricultural products, confectionery, fertilizer, machinery and equipment, chemicals, liquefied gas...
