Goods through Hai Phong seaport increased by 7%

By the end of July, goods passing through seaports in Hai Phong area reached 65.5 million tons, up 7% over the same period in 2024.

Ships entering to load cargo at HTIT port, Lach Huyen port area

On the afternoon of August 2, Director of Hai Phong Maritime Port Authority Bui Nguyen Khoi informed that from the beginning of 2025 to the end of July, the volume of goods passing through the seaports in Hai Phong area reached 65.5 million tons, an increase of 7% over the same period in 2024. Of which, goods passing through the port by sea vessels reached 55.5 million tons; goods passing through by inland waterway vehicles reached 10 million tons. In the past 7 months, Hai Phong welcomed 10,481 ships entering and leaving the port, an increase of 10% over the same period in 2024.

Particularly at the ports of Lach Huyen port area, in 7 months, there were 462 ships entering and leaving the port with the container throughput reaching 1.2 million TEU, an increase of 34% over the same period in 2024. With 6 berths at Lach Huyen port area put into synchronous operation since last May, it is expected that in 2025, the cargo throughput in this area will reach about 2.2 million TEU.

There were 10,481 ships entering and leaving Hai Phong seaport safely in the first 7 months of 2025.

In order to exceed the target of 112 million tons of cargo throughput in 2025, Hai Phong Maritime Port Authority has increased the dissemination of maritime laws and regulations of Hai Phong seaports; creating the most favorable conditions for maritime enterprises. The Port Authority has effectively exploited the VTS navigation system of Hai Phong channel to guide, regulate, inspect and monitor ships entering and leaving the port. At the same time, it has presided over and coordinated with state management agencies in the city to inspect maritime construction sites, ships carrying petroleum, chemicals, liquefied gas, etc.
