The 2024 Southeast Asian Youth, U19, U23 and Championship Rowing and Canoeing Championships taking place in Hai Phong will gather more than 600 excellent coaches and athletes from 7 Southeast Asian countries to participate.
On the afternoon of June 4, at the information conference about the upcoming rowing tournament in Hai Phong, Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong City, said: This is an international-scale tournament jointly organized by the Department of Physical Training and Sports, the Vietnam Rowing Federation and the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong.

Hai Phong City Rowing Training Center is located in Thuy Nguyen district.
Accordingly, this tournament, the Vietnamese sports delegation will have more than 300 coaches and athletes participating in the tournament. This is also an opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to develop their achievements, maintain the Southeast Asian Rowing and Canoeing movement, and prepare the best athletes to participate in the 33rd SEA Games held in Thailand.
This will be an opportunity to promote the image andpeople of Hai Phong and Vietnam to international friends when they attend and compete in the tournament.
According to the organizers, the tournament will be held at the Hai Phong City Sailing Training Center (Thuy Nguyen District) from June 24 to July 7, 2024. It is expected that about 609 members, including 103 leaders and coaches, and 506 athletes from 7/11 Southeast Asian countries will participate in the 2 tournaments.
Currently, Hai Phong city has issued a plan, assigned tasks to units, prepared facilities and professional conditions to organize the tournament.
The total estimated cost of organizing the tournament is about 3.5 billion VND.
