After more than a year of leaving the Vietnamese team, Coach Troussier has just reappeared in public when leading the Japanese Legends team to compete with the Monaco Former Players team in a charity match taking place at 7:30 p.m. on June 27, at Panasonic Stadium Suita (Osaka, Japan).

All proceeds from this friendly match will be used to support victims affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake (2024) as well as other charitable activities.
The Japanese Legends team features a host of famous players such as Keisuke Honda, Daisuke Matsui, Yuta Minami, Yosuke Kashiwagi, Yoichiro Kakitani, Takayuki Suzuki, Teruyuki Moniwa, Yuji Nakazawa, Masahiko Inoha, Kosuke Ota, Yuki Otsu, Takashi Fukunishi, Hideo Hashimoto, Hiroshi Nanami, Akira Kaji.
On the other side of the front line, the list of former Monaco players includes Louis Ducruet, Marcel Desailly, Robert Pirès, Patrice Evra, Ludovic Giuly, Clarence Seedorf, Eric Abidal, Dirar Nabil, Flavio Roma, Sébastien Squillaci, Gaël Givet, Camel Meriem, Olivier Veigneau, Tony Czech, Kevin Diaz.
The match between the Japanese Legends team and the Monaco Former Players team will take place on June 27.
In the past, Coach Troussier contributed to the development of Japanese football by creating a generation of extremely talented young players. He helped the “Samurai Blue” win the Asian Cup 2000 and reach the round of 16 of the World Cup 2002.
The French coach led the Vietnamese team from 2023 to 2024 but was unsuccessful. He was fired after the “Golden Star Warriors” suffered two consecutive defeats against Indonesia in March 2024.
Recently, many sources said that Coach Troussier is being contacted by the Chinese national team. In the past, the strategist born in 1955 had worked in China at the clubs Shenzhen Ruby, Hangzhou Greentown and Chongqing Liangjiang.
