(NLDO) - It is not necessary to graduate from university and find a job in Ho Chi Minh City to develop your career and find a stable job.

In the program "Bringing school to candidates" organized by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper at Hau Nghia High School ( Long An province) recently, more than 200 questions were sent to the consulting board for answers.

Besides "hot" majors, joint study programs, international study programs..., many 12th grade students are interested in what major to study so that they can work right at home in the future.

According to MSc. Nguyen Hoang Quan, Director of Admissions, Van Hien University, Long An province has a favorable geographical location, being the gateway connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the Western provinces. In particular, Long An is on the path of strong industrial development, attracting a lot of foreign investment capital. This economic development leads to a great demand for highly skilled human resources in the fields of engineering, information technology and management,...

"Students and parents can learn about local human resource needs in the next 5-10 years through provincial information portals, the website of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, etc. In addition, it is necessary to carefully consult training programs and tuition fees before making a final decision" - Master Quan suggested.

In 2025, Van Hien University will open 5 new majors, including: economic law, computer networks and communications, Chinese studies, pharmacy, restaurant management and food service. These majors are built and developed based on the university's existing strengths, meeting the increasing demand for human resources.

"Van Hien University is a member of Hung Hau Group, a large corporation with many factories in Long An. This is a great advantage, creating opportunities for students to intern and work at leading enterprises in the region" - Master Quan added.

As a person with many years of experience in career guidance, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Tat Thien, Head of the Department of Psychology - Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, said that correct career guidance is very important.

Some studies show that about 10-20% of students give up their studies in their first year, 60% of students in their fourth year feel that they are not suitable and want to stop studying. In addition, 18% of students said that they chose their major based on their parents' wishes.

Associate Professor Thien emphasized: "Choosing the right career means balancing your own abilities and passion. In addition, you must also pay attention to whether your health and family's economic conditions are suitable or not."
